Prior to that, Rosemary worked at the Open University (1980- 1991). She has been a Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences since 2006.
Rosemary has been Co-editor of Higher Education (Springer) since 2013, and was appointed OBE for services to HE & Social Science in 2013.
From 2015-2018 Rosemary was the first woman to Chair the UK Council for Graduate Education. She is currently Chair of Trustees for the Sociological Review Foundation.
Research interests
Rosemary’s research interests include:
- Leadership, new managerialism and governance in HE;
- Equality in educational settings;
- Universities as organisations;
- Doctoral education.
